I really don’t understand posts like this. Professing to love Apple products, yet if they produce anything you deem even slightly disappointing, then you would immediately consider switching to something which is the very antithesis of the Mac?

I remember the days when Apple computers struggled to match the performance of much cheaper Wintel PCs, but my love for the elegance of the Mac operating system (OS 9 and then OS X) meant that I could never get interested in anything else.

Not to say that Microsoft’s Surface products are terrible, I’m sure they’re perfectly decent – but they are compromised in diametrically opposite ways to the compromises and choices Apple makes. Personally, the choices Microsoft makes with Surface don’t suit my tastes.

To me, it’s like being a fan of Aston Martins, finding the new model a disappointment, and therefore purchasing a mid-range Toyota instead. Of course, everyone should spend their money the way they like, but it makes me wonder what such a person liked about the Aston in the first place.
