Having read all this the thing that jumps out the most is that – without wishing to offend, but there’s really no other way to say it – one of the reasons we’re in this mess is because our MPs are just not intelligent or worldly enough.

Maybe we need more stringent assessments of intellect before people are able to stand for elections, or at least better mechanisms to allow the public to see what they’re getting before they vote? Either way, it’s just not working.

The analysis presented here is so childlike that I’m deeply concerned it is representative of the rest of our elected officials.
